They say you need to see it to believe it, so cozy on up to the following gameplay video of The Elder Scrolls Online to judge whether or not this upcoming MMO belongs in the same league as Skyrim. The Wellspring of Worship
The Wellspring of Worship
The Sacred Liturgy, declares Vatican II, is the font from which all the Church's spiritual power flows. In his modern classic work The Wellspring of Worship, Fr. Jean Corbon explores the meaning of the Liturgy as the "wellspring" or source of the Church's life and worship of God. The Liturgy itself is a sharing in the mystery of the Triune God and in the Incarnation, Passion, Death, Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus. Corbon writes that it is "the mystery of the r

Black Desert – New theme of the week focuses on monsters
While the previous theme focused on characters, this week’s theme is focused on the monsters found in Black Desert. Viewers might mistaken the trailer below as a combat teaser one, but I guess that doesn’t hurt in any way. For more images, head on to my Facebook album!

When Did It Change?
Sometimes when I am talking to anyone about gaming this picture is kind of how I feel. I have been around this gaming thing for quite some time. I was around when gaming was that secret you didn't tell anyone about because you didn't want them to know. When you try to explain to the younger generation of gamers what games used to be like the response is always "well that doesn't sound fun", "Isn't that unfair?", "Why wouldn't they want you to beat their game?". These are all fair questions and I

Have you ever found yourself playing Neverwinter and thinking, "This is great, but it'd be way better with an enormous bear mauling things while I cast spells"? Or perhaps you'd prefer a panther, or a hawk, or an enormous spider? Whatever your preferred flavor, the game probably has a companion to match your tastes, and each of them is on display in the new companion trailer embedded just past the cut. Although th

Game Design: On the value of quests
With my reduced posting frequency comes the opportunity to get away from daily news and rather discuss game design features independent from any particular game. Pen & paper roleplaying systems, single-player roleplaying games, and MMORPGs often share commonalities, and by looking at how a feature is treated in different games one can learn more about it than by just looking at one individual game with its idiosyncrasies.
I'd like to start this by discussing quests, as I am currently enco

Free for All: RuneScape 3's UI changes would be welcome in any MMO

Jagex just keeps surprising me with its flagship title, RuneScape. Almost every time I sit down to get some time in the world of Gielinor, I find something new. This time around, I want to talk about how the newest version of the game brings not only a fantastic world event and tweaks to all sorts of systems but offers options to the UI that are surprising and wonderfully innovative.
