Age of Wulin (CN) - Tour of Wudang

So, after the previous tour of Shaolin, this time I will be taking a tour of Wudang. If you noticed, the Wudang clan in Age of Wulin uses dual swords as the main weapon starting off. The weapon itself is 1 item, not 2 single swords by the way. I don't think I came across a game where Wudang utilized this weapon (heavy 2-handed sword is actually a legit weapon according to Wudang lore, another branch of Wudang), but I am kind of lazy to dig further into the history books. And oh, both males and

WoW Moviewatch: The Captain's Wife's Lament

With BlizzCon about two weeks away, the WoW Insider staff is celebrating the wild, wonderful world of WoW machinima by revisiting some old favorites.

Work warning: This video is based on a single ribald pun. While it's not cursing per se, anyone who hears the song will get the innuendo immediately.

Kelly recommended today's staff favorite: The Captain's Wife's Lament. Originally a song performed by Paul and Storm, it was transcribed into machinima form by Spiffworld. Spiff is known for his

Desperate Housewives of the future?

I've been reading too many technology articles lately. The death of Steve Jobs has "inspired" a lot of people to write about the bright future of personalized computing, of smart phones, tablet computers, and dreams about what we'll get when we combine mobile computing with GPS localization and social networks. We can even throw in some medical devices, like a heart rate monitor.Recently I was in a meeting in Paris with a gentleman from India. We chatted politely, he told me he had brought his w

Despite not having much information other than a trailer from G*Star 2010, Mgame has announced that the martial arts sequel will be hitting the Closed Beta phase on 2nd December 2011. This date is just a few days right after its official reveal at G*Star 2011. Developed by KRG Soft, Yulgang 2's storyline takes place 30 years after the original, with the dual faction wars intact and new characters introduced from the manga.

Chris Metzen discusses the role of the writer at GDC Online

So how does a writer fit into World of Warcraft? If you ask Chris Metzen, they are the cheerleaders, torchbearers and keepers of the flame, responsible for the keeping the heart in the game. In a presentation at GDC Online in Austin, Texas, Metzen talked a bit about the balance between writing and gameplay and the job of a writer at Blizzard.

Though lore has taken more of a front seat in Cataclysm, it's ultimately the gameplay that comes first with Blizzard, even before the story. According

World of Warcraft introduces real money auction house

As Gazimoff so correctly remarks, the introduction of the Guardian Cub pet, which costs $ 10 in the Blizzard store and can be sold for gold in the World of Warcraft auction house, effectively turns the auction house into a real money affair. You can always buy kittens, sell them for gold, and use that gold to buy BoE epics or whatever else you want. The pet puts an "official" dollar to gold exchange rate into World of Warcraft. Except for the fact that you can't exchange the pet back for anythi

Age of Wulin goes to Korea

After the China, Europe, localized Russia, Malaysia and Taiwan servers (my apologies if I missed any out) are confirmed for Snail Game's Age of Wulin, the next region to be confirmed will be Korea, land of online games. The publisher of choice is rather surprising, with it being Ntreev Soft. Under its gaming portal Gametree, the company is more well-known for cute games such as Trickster Online, Pangya and Alicia. It seems the game will be going full steam ahead in 2012 for global domination!
