(Official website) I first played DOTA, or Defense of the Ancients, on Warcraft III back in 2004. Subsequently, I played for around 3 years more before devoting my time on other games. League of Legends (LoL) and Heroes of Newerth (HoN) came along not long ago, but I was never really into them, finding something lacking compared to the original DOTA.
