Pirates complaining about piracy

Game Dev Tycoon is an indie game that costs only $ 7.99 in the Windows app store, and is DRM-free. A free demo is also available. Nevertheless Green Heart Games determined that only 6.4% of the players on release day had bought the game legitimately, the other 95.6% were playing a pirated copy. So they struck back and put a slightly modified "cracked" version of the game on torrent. In that version your career as game development tycoon ends in ruin, because of simulated piracy.

I think that every player is different, and so what is just the right amount of challenging for one guy might be trivial for the next, or frustratingly hard for a third. News Flash on Facebook Games

EA is shutting down their range of Facebook games, like Sims Social. Calling that a "news Flash" is actually a pun, because I do have a theory why Facebook games are currently in a death spiral, and even Zynga had to shut down lots of those games. And my theory is that this has to do with the fact that these games are Flash games, and thus do not run on most mobile devices.

In case you hadn't noticed it yet, tablets and smart-phones are currently hot as surfing and gaming platforms, with PC sa

In discussions on the internet, when discussing groups of people, quite often these people are divided into two groups: The haves and the have-nots, the good and the bad, the intelligent and the stupid, the hardcore and the casual, and so on. Lack of community

My blog is in its 10th year, which as an unpaid effort is only sustainable by me writing about whatever interests me, and putting any potential audience second. Nevertheless I am aware of my readers, the feedback they give in comments and mails, and the blogosphere community discussions that occasionally evolve. If I write about MMORPGs that is. Whenever I write about pen & paper roleplaying, the echo is very notably weaker. There is less of a community for pen & paper games.

Age of Wushu – New unique factions coming as content update

[Register now] I am really impressed by Age of Wushu thus far, with content after content patches for the China server. Launching on 10th April for the North America server, Age of Wushu is a level-less MMORPG, where characters are not decked out in crazy armors to stay true to the wuxia settings. The main

It turns out that some people miss my April Fool's Day posts when I don't write them. My apologies, with the first of April falling on Easter Monday this year I was busy with family and in addition had a pen & paper roleplaying session in the evening. And I didn't have any brilliant idea for a nearly plausible piece of news anyway.
